Refunds will be issued by e-transfer or back to the Credit Card used to process the initial payment. Credit Card payments will take several business days to be posted to your bank account; the length of time varies by the individual banking institution.
A paid registration fee shall be fully refunded in the event the PRMLA is unable to provide "the opportunity to play lacrosse at the appropriate age level". No administrative fee will be withheld in this case.
A paid registration fee shall be partially refunded, less the $60 administrative fee, in the event that the player is cut from their corresponding Field or Box age group. Depending upon availability, Box players will first be offered the opportunity to play house league.
Refunds for medical reasons must be accompanied by a Doctor's note and will be assessed on an individual basis. There will be no refund for registrations due to medical reasons that occur after May 1st, with the exception of extenuating circumstance which must be presented to and approved by the PRMLA Executive Board.
There will be no refund for a registration fee if a player is suspended or expelled from the PRMLA because of Governing Body (PRMLA, Zone 9, OLA, OMFLL, or OWFL) discipline policy, or code of conduct rules.
In addition to the information listed above, CANCELATIONS/REFUNDS will be issued within the following guidelines:
Up to March 31: Full amount less the $60 administration fee; when you register, the system automatically sends payment to the OLA for a number of standard player expenses including insurance & these fees cannot be recovered by our association. In order to ensure that we are not losing money for our programming, the association will not be absorbing these costs. We appreciate your understanding.
April 1 to May 1: 50% refund (includes the $60 administration fee)
After May 1: No refund available.

NOTE: All balances must be paid before a release request can be made, including registration fees.
The Pelham Raiders Minor Lacrosse Association has a commitment to the growth and development of the game of lacrosse. The Association has a ‘no release’ policy for players residing within the Pelham Raiders Minor Lacrosse Association boundaries. However, in special circumstances as determined by the PRMLA executive, a release may be granted as long as it abides with the OLA and PRMLA Regulations.
Please note:
When a release is granted the caliber of the player shall not enter the decision (MR3.06).
Release requests cannot be submitted prior to February 1st (Field Lacrosse) and March 1st (Box Lacrosse) of the current season (MR3.01)
Release requests cannot be submitted after March 1st (Field) and April 15th (Box) of the current season (MR3.01).
The player requesting the release must be registered and paid with the PRMLA prior to requesting the release and OLA approved for the current season prior to any participation (MR3.01).
As outlined by the OLA regulations MR2.08(a): players need to be registered with their home club before the OLA cut off date:
FIELD - February 15
BOX - The 3rd Sunday in March
A player will be eligible for one rep release per playing season, per sector (MR3.01).
HOW DO YOU APPLY FOR A RELEASE?
The Player must be registered with the Pelham Raiders Minor Lacrosse Association and their registration fee paid in full. An additional $100 Release Request Fee must be paid to the PRMLA Treasurer prior to submitting a request for a release. The Player or Parent/Guardian must complete section 1 of the Ontario Lacrosse Association (OLA) Release Request Form and deliver it to the PRMLA President, with a copy also being sent to the PRMLA Registrar.
NEXT STEPS:
Per the Ontario Lacrosse Association 2025 Rules and Regulations:
PRMLA will respond to any release request within 3 business days to acknowledge receipt of the OLA Release Request Form and notify the player/guardian of the date & time of the release hearing.
Release hearings must occur within 10 business days of the PRMLA receiving the request from the Applicant.
All related parties will be invited to attend the hearing.
The hearing will be heard by a minimum of 3 people, one of whom will act as the Chair.
Within 5 business days of the conclusion of the hearing, all parties shall receive a written decision.
If the release is denied by the PRMLA:
You can submit a written appeal of your Club Level Release decision to the OLA Level 1 Appeal: Merit Review, which has a $100 appeal fee. Submissions must be sent to casemanager@ontariolacrosse.com. If the OLA determines the request has no merit, this decision is not appealable and the player will return to their centre. If the OLA determines that there is merit, then the appeal can proceed to level 2.
The OLA Level 2: Appeals Board has a $300 appeal fee. Each party will be invited to attend a review hearing and will be given an opportunity to present their cases. The case will be reviewed by the OLA and a decision will be made in writing within 5 business days.
If the request is again denied, the player can either request a refund or continue to play with the PRMLA and try to resolve the differences that led to the request for a release.
If the release is granted at any point:
A refund will be given via e-transfer or cheque less the $100 Release Fee. The player must then re-register with the next closest club and deliver the signed two-page release form to the registrar of his/her new club as proof of release. The new club's registrar will record a comment in the online registration system indicating that confirmation of the release was received so that the Zone 9 registrar is aware.

Code of Conduct
The Pelham Raiders Code of Conduct establishes clear guidelines for behaviour and expectations for all participants, including players, coaches, and parents. It promotes a positive and respectful environment, ensuring that everyone involved understands their role in maintaining the integrity of the game. By outlining acceptable behaviours and the consequences of misconduct, the Code of Conduct helps prevent issues such as unsportsmanlike conduct, bullying, and abuse. It also reinforces the importance of teamwork, respect for opponents, and fair play, which are crucial to the club’s values. When consistently upheld, the Code of Conduct helps create a safe, enjoyable, and development-focused environment where athletes can thrive both on and off the floor/field.

As a Coach, I will:
Respect others, in victory and defeat by:
Treating players, parents, opponents, coaches, and other officials fairly, regardless of gender, ethnic background, colour, sexual orientation, religion, political belief, or economic status.
Directing all comments at the performance rather than the person.
Never criticize other coaches.
Put the health and wellbeing of my athletes first by:
Co-operating with the parents or legal guardians of my athletes, involving them in their child’s development.
Conducting practices and games in ways that are mindful of the academic pressures placed on my student-athletes and promoting their academic success.
Ensuring that the activity being undertaken is suitable to the age, experience, ability, and fitness level of the athletes.
Co-operating with registered medical practitioners in the overall management of my athletes’ medical and psychological health.
Be a good role model by:
Displaying high personal standards.
Abstaining from and not tolerating the use of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco products in conjunction with sport, and discouraging their use and that of other banned performance-enhancing drugs by athletes at all times.
Not using profane, insulting, harassing, or otherwise offensive language.
Stand on guard against abuse and promote a safe environment by:
Reporting any suspicion of sexual abuse (and other situations when a child may be in need of protection, such as neglect or any type of maltreatment) to the authorities and advising the board of executives.
Refraining from verbal or physical behaviours that constitute harassment or abuse.
Educating athletes about their responsibilities in contributing to a safe environment.
-
As a Player, I will:
Play by the rules and in the spirit of the game.
Respect my fellow players, my coaches, the officials, my opponents, and the game.
Do my best to be a true team player.
Remember that winning isn’t everything, that having fun, improving my skills, making friends, and doing my best are just as important.
Acknowledge all good plays or performances, both those of my team and my opponents.
Participate because I want to, not just because my parents or coaches want me to.
Control my temper—fighting and mouthing off spoil the game for everyone.
Remember that coaches and officials are there to help. I will accept their decisions and show them respect.
-
As a Parent, I will:
Remember that my child plays sports for their enjoyment, not for mine.
Encourage my child to play by the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence.
Teach my child that doing one’s best is as important as winning so that my child will never feel severely defeated by the outcome of a game or event.
Make my child feel like a winner every time by offering praise for competing fairly and trying hard.
Never ridicule or yell at my child, or another child, for making a mistake or losing a competition.
Remember that children learn best by example. I will applaud good performances by both my child’s team and their opponents.
Never force my child to participate in sports.
Never question the official’s judgment or honesty in public—I will take concerns to the proper officials.
Respect and show appreciation for the trained volunteer coaches and other team leaders who give their time and energy to provide sport activities that help my child grow and develop.
Additional Parent Responsibility:
I understand that any fines issued by the OLA (Ontario Lacrosse Association), OMFLL (Ontario Minor Field Lacrosse League) and/or Zone 9 for non-compliance with PRMLA (Pelham Raiders Minor Lacrosse Association), OLA, OMFLL and/or Zone 9 regulations and policies, will be the responsibility of the parents to pay, even if such fines are issued to the player.
Abstaining from and not tolerating the use of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco products and discouraging their use in conjunction with minor sports and in accordance with the OLA Substance Misuse Policy.
